raw at heart

Love Love Love this bed arrangement

Now I know I go on and on and on about Garance Dore and her wonderful sensibilities...but she just has this amazing ability to capture people in a pure light, completely devoid of any sort of smoke screen.

One of her latest subjects has been French jewellery-maker Lara Melchior, who is not only stunning herself, but who also has the most beautiful home filled with rustic collectables and interesting, raw finishes (and yes, i do see the animal theme running through this post also!)

Ah, to live in a light-filled Parisian loft, surrounded by precious metals

Summer's coming!

Isn't Jess Hart just a picture of summer perfection in this snap of hers from Italy?

Simple lines, clean cut, perfect accessories

This is definitely how i'd like to be spending my summer (in Italy would be great, but it's hard to beat an Australian summer)

home zoo

I'd like to thank all the little baby cheeses around the world for i have finally landed myself a full time job! It may not be my dream job just yet, but it's a start...and everyone has to start somewhere

As a result I have now made a list of various goods to decorate my house with, c/o rawspace.com.au and haveyoumetmissjones.com.au

And yes, I do realise that together all these objects would result in my house resembling some deranged ceramic petting zoo, but it's the inspiration that counts!

On to a Goot thing

For me, Josh Goot has sat comfortably at the top of Australian fashion, with his sleek tailoring and bold use of prints keeping us constantly interested and intriged as to how his brand will evolve.

These shots by Oyster magazine will no doubt further cement his AW'12 collection into every Australian fashion magazine round the country.
Better start saving those pennies!

white noise

There's one trend I'm really keen to try this summer...which just so happens to be one of the hardest to pull off.

White on white

Done well, it looks so chic and elegant, like you've just stepped off a yatch in the South of France
Done badly, and it looks like you missed your 80s moment in the sun

I camera phone snapped this image from the Madison magazine diary, of Elise Taylor...the styling in this pic is exactly what I want to emulate.

It also doesnt help my cause that I'm not too good at keeping my whites white, but it's a risk im willing to take.
Style shots to follow!

Bare Essentials

image: intothegloss

This post will revolve around two of my favourite things at the moment: Lily Aldridge and pulling off the 'make-up free' look.

Lily, seen above with her sister Ruby, has joined my list of girl crushes. Her flawless complexion, exotic features and sunny disposition makes her a welcome addition to the model circuit.

And it's her beautiful, make-up free skin that leads me to my second goal- perfecting clear skin, that which is without a lick of make-up.

My goal at the moment is to prepare my skin for my trip to bali and the upcoming summer, so that all I may need is a sweep of mascara and a lick of lipstick. It's probably the hardest look to get right; beyond any complex night look. It's all about the base.

And it all comes down to maintenance; using the correct products- a good cleanser, skin-suitable exfoliant and a hydrating moisturiser, so that I one day may glow like Miss Aldridge.

My products of choice at the moment are: Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel, Dermalogica Thermafoliant and Dermalogica Skin Smoothing cream, finished with Endota Rosehip oil and Burts Bees lip balm.

Who stole my girlfriend?

I am so impressed by the collection from Stolen Girlfriend Club this season.

An amazing use of colour and sheer fabrics; the orange rainbow that comes through the Delusion dress is utterly devine <3

no ordinary market place

Market HQ has been kicking goals recently with its fabulous ranges from Australia, and beyond's best independent designers

These are my picks for this week, and clearly MinkPink is doing something right this season

mink pink rock lobster shorts ( the name alone does it for me!)

I like wolves aztec dress

Mink Pink Lounge skater skirt

Mink Pink Shaggy cardigan

Mink Pink Tassel Kaftan

Mink Pink Fringed Cape

I also seem to have a strange affinity for fringing

ID anyone?

I can't stop thinking about this amazing jumper, worn by the equally amazing Christine Centenera at London Fashion Week

Even to the point where i will buy it if i find it - a designer splurge may have to happen!

I love that it has a relaxed, edgy and undone feel while still being elegant and sophisticated

Does anyone know who it's by??

The Burbs

I'm obsolutely blown away by the Burberry SS12 collection

What an inciteful and amazing use of colour, print and texture

I have a job interview tomorrow and this is what I'd love to look like if I had the money (and time) to put something super chic together - tailored and classic, but not suity boring
