The Balancing Rock at the Garden of the Gods
All that talk of not making prior judgements has happened again...in reverse.
All my high hopes for a picturesque Denver, Colorado came crashing down as we spent the last 4 days walking along the drug-ridden, homeless filled, downtrodden streets of depression, while staying in a half-way house that doubled as a hostel (though where were all the other travellers?).
We did escape however for a day, and drove south to lovely Colorado Springs and to the amazing Garden of the Gods for some ancient-world awe.
And $2 bowling was a nice distraction for a day.
My one other tip for the USA: avoid Denver, head straight for Aspen!
