Scandinavian style

Colombine Smile (columbine.freshnet.se): always so effortlessly chic

I think it's the combination of texture and simple lines that always gets my attention with Scandinavian stylists, including Elin Kling

Trans-seasonal sets

Trans-seasonal sets

Summer in Melbourne has come and gone in an instant, and suddenly we're encompassed in the rich beauty that is Autumn.

My guilty little secret is that Autumn is actually my favourite season- with enough warm days for lazy afternoons in the park, but not hot enough that my face can be found somewhere down my neck.

I also love autumn fashion, with its clash of knits and sundresses, ankle boots and beanies. And as a Melbournian, I feel I have layering down to a fine art.

Bring on the crimson leaves and all the leopard print scarves I can hold!

kawaii!

I know I'm like a whole season behind with this, but I really think the Miu Miu cat's eye sunglasses are cute cute!

Gold and glitter? Yes please!

a cure to my lonely heart

You've got to love it when a lingerie brand decides to dip its toes day wear; it generally results in a fluid, sensual array of laces, silks and pristine tailoring.

From across the Tasman, Lonely Hearts has given us the possibility of looking effortlessly chic, whilst staying warm.

Filled with tasty winter florals and that brilliantly vibrant tomato-red dress, this range will slot seamlessly into my wardrobe without a second look.

And I think that this winter it is time to invest in some leather pants...as nice as my rubber Asos pants are...

Here are a couple of my favourites from Lonely Hearts A/W '12:

 There they are!

hey marge, the new collections are here!

BEST!

Maurie & Eve are another Aussie brand I have been paying a lot of attention to lately, as each subsequent collection outshines the last

Kelly Davies, Maya Clemmensen & Scott Davies' upcoming Autumn 2012 collection has officially hooked me in- I can't wait to get my hands on the Celine-esque prints and dreamy Bowie palazzo pants in borderline (my boyfriend is going to hate me)

Also on the menu, the Wasson L/S dress in Five O, the Sedgewick shirt dress and the Bowie shorts

Summer's coming!

Isn't Jess Hart just a picture of summer perfection in this snap of hers from Italy?

Simple lines, clean cut, perfect accessories

This is definitely how i'd like to be spending my summer (in Italy would be great, but it's hard to beat an Australian summer)

On to a Goot thing

For me, Josh Goot has sat comfortably at the top of Australian fashion, with his sleek tailoring and bold use of prints keeping us constantly interested and intriged as to how his brand will evolve.

These shots by Oyster magazine will no doubt further cement his AW'12 collection into every Australian fashion magazine round the country.
Better start saving those pennies!

white noise

There's one trend I'm really keen to try this summer...which just so happens to be one of the hardest to pull off.

White on white

Done well, it looks so chic and elegant, like you've just stepped off a yatch in the South of France
Done badly, and it looks like you missed your 80s moment in the sun

I camera phone snapped this image from the Madison magazine diary, of Elise Taylor...the styling in this pic is exactly what I want to emulate.

It also doesnt help my cause that I'm not too good at keeping my whites white, but it's a risk im willing to take.
Style shots to follow!

Who stole my girlfriend?

I am so impressed by the collection from Stolen Girlfriend Club this season.

An amazing use of colour and sheer fabrics; the orange rainbow that comes through the Delusion dress is utterly devine <3

Market HQ has been kicking goals recently with its fabulous ranges from Australia, and beyond's best independent designers

These are my picks for this week, and clearly MinkPink is doing something right this season

I like wolves aztec dress

Mink Pink Lounge skater skirt

Mink Pink Shaggy cardigan

Mink Pink Tassel Kaftan

Mink Pink Fringed Cape

I also seem to have a strange affinity for fringing

I have a job interview tomorrow and this is what I'd love to look like if I had the money (and time) to put something super chic together - tailored and classic, but not suity boring

if only...

If I didn't already have my credit card to pay off, car registration due and rent due I would DEFINITELY be adding these to my spring wardrobe
